 Welcome to "our" page

Hi & thank you so much for your interest is our kennel, dogs and puppies. This page is about "us" and why we are here doing what we do : )   It's been a while since I have updated this page and so I shall try to do so and explain some of the things we DO and why we DO THEM!

My GOAL 12 years ago was just to produce a litter or two of puppies that was as kind and loving as my old girl CODY!  She was and STILL IS the inspiration behind the whole thing!  She did produce a litter for me, and with the placing of her puppies, I soon realized there was a NEED for what I was doing. I tend to be a little different in my passion for life and business.  Yes, now this passion is a BUSINESS but is more full of Passion and Love then ever before.  And yes, this Passion is MY WHOLE LIFE and I honestly wouldn't and couldn't ask for anything more.  The Shepherds that have been a part of us and who are still a part of us make this such an incredible JOB!

We are thankful for it all.  We THANK all those who return to just "look" and see how and what the kennel is up to!  Thank you all!  YOU have also made this a wonderful JOB!  I so enjoy hearing back from all of you and helping when I am needed.

With that said, I would like to explain that I started with a small dream and it's been building now for a little over 10 years.  I had worked for a veterinarian for years and thought it to be the most wonderful job that I had ever had.  I am so glad for that opportunity.  Now, this is the most wonderful job I will ever have!  Well, this and being a part of my family!  :)

Cody was just an incredible gift to have been able to start with.  She was there in my life for a reason and I am thankful that I took heed to it................Cody recently crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in November, 2007.  SHE WAS here all the time, by my side, so I dedicate this page to her.........Her bloodlines are throughout my entire kennel.  She is there in almost every dog that I have.  I love her gentleness and her loving ability that she throws in her puppies. I have added to her line the same love and devotion that she has with some needed grace, structure and color of course!  This is a passion that I have worked on for over 10 years and I am proud to say that I keep a puppy from almost every litter that we have.  I do this for ME!  I do not just raise puppies to SELL, I raise them for ME and my family.  I love what they are and what they give back everyday!  There is no better way to describe a shepherd, but with love and devotion, continuously!!  I do not buy and sell everything all the time.  We raise homebred puppies HERE and do not have puppies produced by others for us.  I need to know what I am producing and raising so it's best if I do it HERE. I have been blessed with an incredible husband, Paren, who has continued to build and rebuild here to make this DREAM become REALITY!  Those who know us or who have followed this dream with me, know what types of transformations we have moved through......Thank you all for being there along this walk....We are able to have puppies here and all my dogs at the same time.  I am thankful for that everyday!

It's not over yet :) and so I continue to do what I love best and that is share my life with these shepherds ~ and, to share them with YOU!!  We recently lost one of our first dogs that we purchased as a puppy.....Blizzard is now across the Rainbow Bridge.  He is missed deeply and yet, through the eyes of his kids and grandkids left behind, we shall forever know that he was here, gracing our lives daily......along our blessed path.....

Please continue to read onward.....there is much more.....one more thing though is that my parents, my heroes, have been a true building block behind this whole process......although I am not so young anymore, I still feel like a child when I remember their love, devotion to us kids, and their arms always open........I am truly thankful to God for allowing me to be their daughter : )  They helped build this foundation that I now live upon.  Through God's graces we shall continue.......

When the pictures below were taken, we had NO IDEA that our Mom would not be with us this upcoming Christmas!!  We lost her to Cancer June 20th 2004. We miss her terribly and will FOREVER keep her love and tenderness around us.  She was and still is the inspiration that moves us forward.  We lost our Dad 10 years ago and losing Mom really has been hard.  We want to dedicate this page to MOM and all she has done for us and our lives.  My sister, brother and I are forever wrapped in her love for life and drive for each day!  She was and always will be the perfect MOM : )

This is a Family picture taken Christmas Day 2003.  On the left Brittany is in the picture : ) and then on the Right, Akili is in the Picture.  They took turns so that everyone could get in. :) We are so blessed and thankful to be together this Christmas Season!! My Mom is the little gal in the middle in the red sweatshirt : )  We just LOVE her!!
Just wanted to share with those who visit often!

There are a couple of pictures that I added to the bottom of this page about OUR MOM!!

The kids all took part in the chores and exercise and any needed maintenance at our small farm.  We decided when the opportunity came up to breed that we would all do our part to keep it fun and exciting.  The kids have all helped with the training and all the puppy maintenance in the house.  We raise our pups in the house and in the kennel....... but when there is a litter of pups and three kids in the house, it can get hectic.  Not all the mothers are comfortable in the house having puppies with all the excitement and so there are some who have their puppies in the kennel.  We each have our own dogs and we also have favorites from time to time.

We want to raise healthy, kind and happy German Shepherds.  We want to stick with the older German lines and feel that we have been lucky to start with some of the finest. We like the larger boned shepherds, but try to keep the correct structure in mind. All the parents to the litters are friendly and enjoy visitors. They do have health checks to ensure they are ready for breeding. I have always liked the stocky, large framed and straight-backed shepherds and have kept that in mind with each litter that I breed.  I love the old style shepherd and I have plans to stick to that type of shepherd.  It may not be what a lot of breeders are breeding these days but for 10 years it's been an incredible blessing to me and my family.

I try to keep up with the latest information on the genetics and diseases that German Shepherds are prone to. There is so much information available now on the Web.  I want to stress that I take the very best precautions I can in breeding our dogs.  My Veterinarian is a great source of information. Information regarding my veterinarian will gladly be given upon request and highly recommended.  Although, I do not do what other Breeders do, just to say that I do. Every Breeder has their own program that they are accustomed to and I think that is good.  I am very, very proud of our breeding program and it shows with all the feedback we receive from the families who have our babies.  We strive to keep with the Holistic program that we started with close to 12 years ago.

There is so much more that goes into our breeding program that people cannot see or understand through a website.  We are very real people with very real goals and beliefs.  My pups are all Champions in my mind and heart.  This meaning, that every puppy born to my kennel is treated that same as if it were to be the next Champion of Dogs.  I have prided myself in producing puppies that I want and keep in my program and so they all have to be special for me.  Color is a very controversial subject and I understand that we all cannot agree on this.  The same goes for the different bloodlines such as American verses German or Czech or East or West German.  I believe that with a combination of bloodlines, you can better the breed with diversity.

With every puppy that leaves my house, you get a little blessing that goes along with you!  They are to enlighten and enrich your lives and with this I vow to be very selective in breeding and only hope that I have done the best I can. YOU and YOUR PUPPY become an extension to OUR family. We eagerly await emails and phone calls from you after taking home a puppy : )

BEFORE                                            NOW
Above is our House we purchased and made a Home.  Built in 1820, through many remodeling endeavors,  and completely run down before we bought it, it's been a blessing the whole way of bringing IT back to life!  It's a wonderful little home and piece of land and we are grateful for the opportunity of giving it LIFE again! We are constantly working on things in the ole house but love it dearly!!  Always adding little antiques and pieces that fit the era......

Our other hobbies as a family include, antiques, target shooting, 4 wheeling, horses, and enjoying the simple things in life. The Shepherds, of course, own us and run our daily lives : )

Thanks for visiting and we appreciate your interest in our dogs.  If you would like to schedule an appointment to visit the kennel and dogs, please feel free!!  Our GOAL is to help you add a Friend & Family Companion to your life and also to send you away with nothing more then just a SMILE!!  These dogs will get inside your heart and you will forever take away a piece of us when you leave!  Smile!  It's truly a FREE GIFT!

BUBBA, February 2004                Bubba June 2004 with his FISH : )

The Pond above was built in the Summer of 2004 for my Mom who we lost in June, 2004.  She enjoyed sitting under the tree and watching the fish!  Her two dogs, Misty and Dakota were constant companions for her.  My sister, Terris and her family have made Misty a part of their family and Dakota is here with us. We all miss Mom!  She was able to make us SMILE everyday, even through the hard and rough times.  She was and still is INCREDIBLE to us all!!
MY MOM is MY HERO for life.
I miss my Mom and Dad daily and honoring her on my website is just a little tiny thing I can share with you......They were incredible parents!!
